Education and Training:
Clinical Care
There are many excellent resources available to those who wish to learn more about caring for the dying and their families.
The information included in this section provides only a sample of what is available in the field. The conferences and courses listed are some of the provincial and national events that are currently offered on a regular basis. There are also many international conferences that you may wish to consider and the national hospice or palliative care association of that country may be a place to start.
Catalogue companies have extensive lists, of books, journals and videos, that they will be pleased to send you. In this section, there is a small selection of more recent publications that deal with different aspects of death, dying and bereavement: children, spiritual aspects of care, general hospice palliative care information, etc. Most hospice palliative care programs have excellent bibliography lists and libraries as well.
The journals listed can usually be found through hospital, university, college or public libraries. The B.C. Hospice Palliative Care Association or Canadian Palliative Care Association offices may also be able to direct you to find the journal in question.
