Administration
Seven member Board is involved in all Hospice services. A Hospice Coordinator reports all activities to the Board. The board’s main commitment is finance.
Volunteer Program
We have twenty active volunteers. The Coordinator supervises and supports volunteers. We offer support to the terminally ill and their families and to those who have suffered a loss through death; we also have a support group.
Home Program
Volunteers provide hospice support for the client in the home and respite for family members.
Hospital Program
We have a beautiful Hospice room plus a family room at the hospital, looking out to our Garden of Serenity, which are flower, shrubs and fountain. Volunteers can provide round the clock support if requested. Hospital staff is very supportive.
Spiritual and Pastoral Care
As requested by the patient, ministers from various denominations are available.
Bereavement Program
One-on-one volunteer follow-up with bereavement support to their assigned families.
Education and Professional Training
Volunteers meet for discussions, sometimes with a guest speaker. We also share videos and at times attend workshops and conferences in other areas. Coordinators attend the workshops yearly.
Other relevant information
We have a loan cupboard, plus we have beds, wheel chairs, etc. for loan in the home. We have a small library and videos to lend.
