BCHPCA Components of Care
Administration
Elected Board consisting of Volunteers & members from the Community. No paid employees. Grief Support Coordinator & Palliative care Coordinator are Volunteer.
Volunteer Program
Services are provided in the home. We have no hospital or Hospice. 20 volunteers. Patients are referred through Doctors, Home Care Nurse or through direct consultation with Coordinator by Caregiver.
Home Program
Usually coordinated with Home Care Nurse. Home support may also be involved.
Spiritual & Pastoral Care
We utilize community resources as needed.
Bereavement Program
Grief Support Coordinator provides Group support training 2x a year. Volunteers provide one on one grief counselling as required.
Education & Professional Training-
for Volunteers provided 2x a year. Volunteers receive both Palliative care and grief counselling training. Representatives attend BCHPCA Conference & other venues. They bring information back to the group.
