BCHPCA Components of Care

Administration
We are a small group.  Funding comes from fundraisers, i.e., “Hike for Hospice”, sitting at trade shows, craft fairs with information, and offering an “ Angel for  Hospice card” with a donation at Christmas .  Another source of funding is in memoriam donations.
Volunteer Program
We have ten active caregivers.   At this time we work primarily through word of mouth.
Home Program
During an end of life situation we offer families and patients support in the home or hospital as required.  This coming fiscal year we are planning to extend our services to include grief counseling by trained volunteers
Education and Professional Training
We usually hold 1 or 2 nine week training sessions each year (one topic a week - 3 hour sessions).
