Volunteer Program
450+ volunteers
trainings:  3-4 times / year - both basic and several advanced modules (emotional support, spiritual care, bereavement)
services: Unit, home, bereavement followup, Society office, fund raising
a structured recognition and education program

Home Program
Partnership with CHR Home Nursing
Home consultation & support (medical, counselling, nursing, volunteer, spiritual care)
24 hrs. Palliative Response Team

Hospital Program
Unit - 7 beds acute palliative and 10 beds extended care palliative
Ward consultations
Cancer Centre Pain Clinic

Spiritual and Pastoral Care
0.5 FTE Spiritual Care Coordinator working in partnership with community resources
Spiritual Care Volunteers

Symptom Management
Extensive interdisciplinary team of medical, counselling, nursing & volunteer services to home, Unit and hospitals. Therapy services also available through partnerships.

Bereavement Program
Provide general counselling consultation, information/materials, group and volunteer support to over 1800
Clients -  there are a number of support groups offered: ie. suicide, general grief support, spouses, children and parents, fathers, young widows, walking.

Education and Professional Training
• annual Medical/Nursing course
• annual Psychosocial course
• annual Spiritual Care conference
• students, practicums, on-site training
• workshops and  inservices for healthcare professionals
• have produced several texts and manuals and a range of informational materials

Evaluation and Research
• auditing of Care Coord. & program
• data evaluation
• informal & formal research projects
